More on Anita Ford

Anita Ford was born in London. In the late 1960s she studied at Loughborough College of Art, gaining 1st Class honours in sculpture. Subsequently she took an Italian State Scholarship at the Academia di Belle Arti, Venice, was Artist in Residence at Isetan, Tokyo, worked with the Ballet Rambert Inter Arts Collaborative Project at Arnolfini, Bristol, and was selected to show at the Dostoyevsky Foundation, St Petersburg.Anita has spent many years in the development of her method of creating the monoprints, each one of which is unique. They are made by printing transparent  layers,  which when overlaid create great depth of colour.  In between the layers and on the top surface she adds the detail by hand, so the work becomes a hybrid of (mostly) screen print and drawing.
