Bruce McLean - Turquoise Hosepipe Ban

Red Garden Path, Lindheimer's Beeblossom and Turquoise Hosepipe Ban continue to explore the artist's organic, floral themes, taking inspiration from his garden in Spain.

McLean's fascination with flora and fauna is inspired by his wife's gardens in London and Menorca and has long been a central theme in his prints and paintings. Drawing particular inspiration from the dark shadows and flickering light created as the sun moves around, these artworks are directly related to paintings created 10 years ago which developed into the 'Son Caragol' series. Through mark making and layering motifs, McLean builds up depth and injects a bold and bright palette to recreate this lush, flickering environment.
