‘This portrait was painted at extremely short notice in 2013 for The Mystery of Agatha Christie, a documentary produced by Testimony Films for ITV series Perspectives, presented by David Suchet. Whilst filming at my home in Cornwall, David and I talked about our creative relationship with Dame Agatha, which had spanned many years of our respective careers. The painting is a miniaturised version of my ‘lifescape’ portraiture and includes family, book characters and other elements of Agatha’s life.’ - Tom Adams, 2015
